hollistic ease of access

Ease of Access

Finding the best care should not be stressful, so Moffitt strives to make cancer care easily available. A referral is never required and there are convenient locations throughout Tampa Bay. New patients can request appointments online or over the phone at 1-888-663-3488 and current patients can access appointments on the MyMoffitt Patient Portal app. We also offer amenities and resources to help ease the stresses of cancer care.

"Their staff is amazing. The nurses – I'll have tea with them in the waiting room while I wait to see the doctor and I'm never feeling rushed out of the room. We sit down and kind of bounce ideas around which is what's so special about Moffitt."

– Rena, Cervical Cancer Survivor

Clinical Expertise

As a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center our teams are considered experts in their field. From developing groundbreaking immunotherapy treatments for leukemia and lymphoma, to pioneering less invasive brain cancer surgery and leading the way in lung cancer early detection, Moffitt clinicians and researchers are at the forefront of bringing cancer breakthroughs to our patients.

hollistic integrative medicine

Integrative Medicine

There is strength in taking time to honor your body. Integrative medicine is an approach to care that complements clinical care, centering on treating the whole person – physical, emotional, spiritual – not just destroying the cancer. Some services include:

  • Massage
  • Acupuncture
  • Yoga
  • Meditation

"I have a type of blood cancer that requires me to be on treatment for the rest of my life. For me, yoga has been my source of healing and calm. When I stand tall on my yoga mat I am on my own island in this universe."

- Michelle, Survivor and Member of Moffitt's Patient and Family Advisory Program

hollistic support

Whether one-on-one, in a group, in an art studio, or with a furry friend, finding a support system is important. Moffitt offers several programs, including different support groups, young adult programs, pet therapy, counseling, nutrition therapy, Arts In Medicine and more.

"Most people just look at cancer as this awful illness. But I see the opportunity in this, in terms of psychological growth, spiritual growth, in terms of compassion and empathy... If you focus on gratitude, you don't focus as much on fear."

– Dr. Hafeez, Moffitt Psychiatrist and Breast Cancer Survivor

hollistic families

Patient-and- family-centered care is central to Moffitt's philosophy. Families First is a program designed to help families adjust to changes that occur when a parent has cancer. Education, preparation and support enable families to cope successfully in the face of a serious illness.

"I valued the impact this program had on my children. Families First gave them the opportunity to meet other children in similar situations and to feel safe sharing their feelings."

– Hazel, Breast Cancer Survivor

hollistic Survivorship

The completion of cancer treatment can bring unexpected stress. To help survivors Moffitt established a Survivorship Clinic. Services include screening recommendations, prevention strategies, lifestyle education, nutritional support, counseling and more.

"When I went to the first meeting, they made me so comfortable to where I didn't feel alone. I got to hear other people's journeys and it taught me how to live again."

- Marcia, Breast Cancer Survivor
